This page explains the information used by this first version of StarterLaunch.
When you submit a product
Sign-in is handled by ChatGPT. StarterLaunch receives your site-specific user ID, account email, and optional display name. We store your user ID and email with your submission so you can manage it. Your public maker name is chosen in the form.
Approved product names, descriptions, websites, categories, platforms, pricing models, images, maker names, upvote totals, and active promotion labels appear publicly and may be indexed by search engines and AI search services. Account emails and user IDs are not included in public listings.
Automatic listing drafts
When you choose Build my listing, we request the public page you provide and read its product details to prepare an editable draft. Your account email and sign-in cookies are not sent to the product website. The website and our DNS provider receive normal server requests. A temporary counter tied to your site-specific user ID limits repeated imports. Draft creation does not publish a product listing; you review and submit it separately. Imported images are temporarily stored so you can preview them. To find a clearer logo, we may also read public icon files and an app-store listing linked by your site. Image links you paste are fetched by our server without sending your sign-in cookies to those sites.
Product images and votes
Automatic imports copy supported public logos and images to StarterLaunch storage. You can remove or replace them before submitting. Unsubmitted draft images are accessible to their signed-in owner, expire after 24 hours, and are cleaned up during later imports or uploads. Submitted images remain private until the listing is approved. Only submit images you have permission to publish. Public images may be cached briefly by browsers and search services.
Upvotes store your site-specific user ID, the product ID, and the time of the vote to enforce one vote per member and calculate calendar rankings. Individual voters and account emails are not displayed publicly. Removing your vote deletes that vote record. Promotion payment references are visible only to the site owner.
Promotion payments
Stripe processes checkout and receives the payment details you enter there. StarterLaunch does not receive or store your card number. We store a random order reference, your site-specific user ID, product ID, selected plan, amount, currency, Stripe payment references, payment status, and campaign dates to fulfill and reconcile purchases. Payment webhooks are authenticated using a signing secret; we do not store their full payloads or billing details. Purchase details are available to the purchaser and site owner. Refunds and disputes pause the campaign for owner review. Necessary financial records may be retained after a product is removed.
Review and product visits
The site owner can review submitted product details, publish or decline a listing, and add a review note. Opening a listed product website increments its outbound visit counter. The application stores a total per product, not an individual visitor history. Repeat visits may be counted.
Saved products and sign-in
Saved product IDs are stored locally in your browser. They do not sync between devices. You can remove them using the bookmark controls or clear your browser storage. Sign-in uses cookies managed by the hosting platform. This version does not include advertising pixels or a third-party analytics integration.
Remove a submission
Open My launches and choose Remove submission to delete the listing and its stored submission data from the active database. Your ChatGPT account is managed separately. Hosting providers may retain operational logs and backups under their own policies.
Links and page styling
Product links open third-party websites, whose policies apply separately. Website links include StarterLaunch referral parameters. Fonts may load from Google Fonts, which receives a normal browser request.
